Hello, my name is Nina Medvedeva! I am a Lecturer in the Department of Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies at the University of Minnesota: Twin Cities. My research explores what short-term rental regulation debates can teach us about how city residents imagine and govern the home.
Focusing on the Airbnb debates in Boston, Washington D.C., and San Francisco, my dissertation draws on feminist political economy, queer of color critique, economic anthropology, and critical urban studies to analyze how city residents make claims that challenge, enforce, or change the hegemonic definition of home.
